I've been looking at buying my first tenkara rod and not sure which one to get.
I fish the river Tees in Darlington which is a very large freestone river system so lots of open areas to fish.
I currently fish most river methods for trout and grayling, czech nymphing, upstream nymphing, spiders, the duo, french leader, dry flies etc so I want a rod that is suitable for these methods.
I also want advice on a suitable length and action for thabove methods and the river im fishing.
TIA
RICH

Although we are literally just about to head out to Japan for another intensive tenkara research and training expedition; we have just put together a half-day event for our return (bringing all our new discoveries with us of course!). It will be a half day of Coaching Clinics, Q&A and also the opportunity to try rods side-by-side to find out which features suit you and your fishing. We will have the largest UK selection available to try - at least 20 rods from 9 different manufacturers. Check out the details and book places here: www.discovertenkara.co.uk/rod-testing-tuition-afternoon/

Ok I've taken the plunge and gone for this rod that Pete has sold me. Went round his to collect today and we ended up chatting for ages, an extra fishing buddy doesn't do any harm. Looking forward to using the rod and learning all about this method. Will be taking on the river at the weekend, levels pending. Cheers for all the recommendations guys :thumbup::thumbup:
