Hope to get my homemade Tamo's wet tomorrow as I head out with a mate on the local beck, guiding and showing him Tenkara techniques. Hope to post loads of photo's of nice size brownies. Just checked the forecast and river levels and I don't think I'll have any excuses for blanking. I'll let you know.

Thanks Paul, after my last outing where I blanked I've got to do something.
Just copied this from the fly fishing forum, a friend of mine who is a prolific catcher trying Tenkara, very good and fast angler. Think we may have won him over to Tenkara!
I decided to have a go with my Tenkara rod today , the river was dropping to a decent level so I was keen to get some fishing done .
I was using a Rhodo Tenkara rod , it fishes at 3 different lengths , to be honest I was hoping for some dry fly action , sadly it never happened , I saw around 4 rises all day .
Common sense told me to go with a brace of nymphs , I tied on a size 16 and a size 18 stripped quill jig nymph , the fishing was fantastic from the off .
Lots of trout caught in all the likely spots , I must admit it was really pleasant fishing this way , I love the simplicity of Tenkara fishing . I will be doing a lot more through out the trout season .
I covered around a mile and half of river , total trout caught today was 125 brown trout .

Cheers for sharing Jim - and I've dropped in a reply to another post-follower's question on Danny's thread. Just for interest's sake - my first session of the 2015 trout season was undertaken with a 10.5 foot bamboo rod made from garden-centre cane (not my relatively posh lacquered model!) and a horse-hair line. I skipped lunch and went to a relatively slow-flowing urban stream near my new home and caught a couple of trout before heading back to work for the afternoon. It was a kind of snatched bliss and it made me grin for the rest of the day.

I've been and gone and done it. The net is now a 'TAMO', used in battle today and it's still in one peice. Had a decent day so I'll post in reports.
