Hi I've only just joined this forum and so far only tried tenkara on the small streams of the Ribble Passport scheme but fond it to be unsuitable due to overhead vegetation. Can anyone recommend somewhere for a beginner to start near to Blackpool

Hi banjo298
I can't recommend any rivers in your location but what I would say is to try other small streams. It is often easier to fish a T rod in a small stream than a western fly rod because your casting loop size is much smaller. Don't small streams with course fish in them as they can be fun on a T rod.
Happy fishing

Hi banjo and welcome: perhaps all you need is a shorter rod to combat the vegetation. I can recommend the Tenkara USA Rodo which allows a length of either 8ft 10", 9ft 8 or 10ft 6".
Good luck and enjoy Tenkara.
