Hi,
There's quite a lot of discussion on Tenkara Rods -Line and Tippet on smallstreams.com site! But what about the UK? Would be interesting to find out what type & length of line the UK Tenkara Anglers use! Also the preferred material? and where to buy them or how to make them? I now I now - Lots of questions!
Thanks
Mostyn

M,
Received my Tenkara yesterday, and ordered a standard 10.5' furled leader from Simon (custom-furles.com). Until that arrives I'm going to practice with some mono leader concoctions. I also have some Camou French leaders in varying lenghths that may work, who knows. This will be back garden stuff to begin with.

I'll get some pics asap. I went for the Iwana from TenkaraUSA. I tried both the Iwana and Yamame as Simon and Sonia have both. The Iwana is slightly softer and seemed to suit my casting. Also found with the Iwana, if you're using weighted nymphs, you can really feel them trundling along the bottom. I met up with Simon last Sat. on the Dee so we could get a few pictures for my blog... pedrosonthefly.blogspot.com...here you can see the Iwana in action along with one of Simon's leaders.

I also went for the Iwana - 12ft not the new 11ft. My priority was weight and packed length, and the Iwana is short enough to travel as hand luggage on a plane!
I have a friend in the UK that also has an Iwana on order, and another in Finland that was advised to go for the longer Ayu. I ordered an initial 'set' of line and tippet with the rod, but it's great to see a UK source that'll I'll definitely use in the future.
