I've just put some further comments about the TRY 360 & your great service on the Great Rods Thread, (Superb rod!) when I tested it on the Ambleve in Belgium.

The TRY 360 is indeed a lovely rod & I've been testing it out with 1.5 & 2 weight lines, both of which it casts very well as long as it isn't too breezy. I was so impressed with the TRY 360 that I tested out that I've bought the TRY 390 which is also superb.
Whilst giving a talk on Tenkara at Bakewell yesterday evening quite a few of the attendees were really impressed with the TRY 360 that I took there (with a range of other rods).
I like the butt cap: yes you do need a coin to open it up but it is so designed that it doesn't touch your hand when holding the rod at the end of the handle which is great in cold weather when an exposed metal cap is uncomfortable without gloves (Stu Crofts is using neoprene 'condoms' to cover the end caps on his rods!!!).

I got a chance to try out a friend's Tenkara Times 1st STEP 360cm 6:4 rod yesterday whilst teaching him some of the subtleties of Tenkara. I was very impressed: this is a surprisingly light, well balanced rod which casts precisely, with no discernible post-cast oscillation. With the line, EZ clips & flies provided in the kit anyone starting Tenkara would need little else. However, this is not just a beginners rod as the name might imply, it is an excellent 'general purpose' Tenkara rod (not as light as the TRY series & not as 'gutsy' as the MOTIVE, but a great 'all rounder'. The biggest bonus is the incredibly low price!!!! There are some great rods available from the likes of Esoteric Tackle, Tenkara USA & Tenkara Centre UK & I have 'favourite' rods from each of these suppliers, but Oleg is definitely giving them some tough competition.
