Hello all, I was greatly enticed by the well-designed, elegantly crafted, and eminently useful-looking tackle wallet by Mr. Kazuhiro Kuwata, featured in Tenkara USA's catalog (http://www.tenkarausa.com/product_info.php/products_id/73). However, not having the 180 quid to spare at the mo, but a piece of appropriately-sized stiff belt leather to hand, I thought I'd try out the project. Below are some photos, for the time being, the adaptations include a couple of additional strips to hold nippers and hemostat, plus a grommet to tie the same via a lanyard, and a single snap where Kuwata's design appears to have 2. THis allowed me to store an additional level line on that flat spool, at least until I decide which line I prefer to use, or will allow me to carry both for more options. It's not perhaps the most attractive, but it certainly holds everything I need and does so efficiently. Note the newly-tied black cricket kebari stuck into the wool, heh heh... ;D After this, I am going to try my hand at a tamo (net) using some very fine, very red nylon mesh bag I reclaimed (you can barely see it poking at the right side of the pic in the last photo of the wallet).

What a fantastic project! Well done that man! I wish I had the time to play with things like that. Looks like you have everything you need in there.

Thanks, Custheyder--actually the thing didn't take long to make at all, and I had a little hand from the fellow at Carew's Leather shop in downtown Limerick; he helped me install the snaps an the grommet. Rivets I was able to do myself with a hammer, at the bench. But it was great fun, saved me a few bob, and has everything I need except the pole (and OK, maybe the net!). Now to take it on the water!

Thats great vlad.
It beats the hell out of a waistcoat full of junk. Just pick it up along with the rod & off you go. Simple!
